These beautiful hand painted blackwood ply earrings are part of our Australiana collection celebrating some of the wonderful creatures that make this country special.
 
These earrings are designed and made by us in our studio and workshop from Blackwood Ply and Sterling Silver and hand painted using non-toxic water based acrylic paints.
 
Not to be outdone Australia is home to some truly unique and fascinating insects - some terrifying, some spectacular but all playing their part.  These guys are my nod to the humble cicada.  It's just not an Aussie summer without the chirping of the loudest insects in the world (up to 120 decibels !) on a warm still day.  Also known as the Great Green Cicada these guys are bright green with ice blue wings.  They spend 7 years underground, emerging for just 6 weeks where they get their party on, hook up over summer and get the cycle underway again.
