Welcome George

Late last year we decided it was time to rescue a little fluff ball.
Eva had seemed so sad since we lost beautiful Wally and then lost sweet Tortie not long after and seemed like she needed some 'furry' company.

We thought it might be nice to inject some youth into our fur clan and the result was the arrival of a little ginger boy who we named George (AKA Georgie, George of the Jungle, Curious George, Georgie Boy and Boy George to name a few).
He had a rough start (as all rescues have) being left behind at a house with his siblings when a family moved away with his Mum. Yep I know - how people can do this is totally beyond me...
George is everything you would expect and them some from a male ginger - he's FULL-ON, playful, completely unable to sit still for long when there is excitement to be had everywhere.
The very slow process of introducing him to HRH is definitely a work in progress given that he is all excess energy and LOTS of sideways running and Eva is gentle, quiet and likes things 'just so'. Needless to say there've been a few run-ins but they are both still alive and doing well so if we can get them to 'tolerating' one-another this will be a good result.
It is lovely to have such a hilarious and energetic presence in the house (most of the time).
The thing about George is that when he isn't tearing around the house at break-neck speed he is the most affectionate, head butting, dribbling bundle of fluffy joy we have ever encountered.
I'm pretty sure if I put together a 'George' reel on social media it would go viral as he really is 'special' and hilarious.
Mike reckons he's as Aussie as they get and would probably have a mullet if he were human.
We have to have toys on us at all times as he might be in the middle of cuddling you then go - you know what, you appear to be a massive toy that I'm going to have to play with right this minute.
There are signs...the ears go back, the pupils dilate, the head tilts to the side, the tail goes poofy. You immediately grope for the nearest toy and fling it as far away from you as possible.
Lucky for us he is easily distracted so it works a treat !
Watching him grow up has been beautiful, funny, frustrating and heartwarming and I think he's going to be a delightful companion for us all (including Eva - eventually).
