About the Red Capped Robin:
As a child I always felt that the red robin represented Christmas.  Admittedly a rather English snowy version of Christmas.  So imagine my delight when I found this little birdy was an Australian Native.
That's right - we have our very own red (capped) robin right here !
These adorable little creatures like it dry and hot (so they picked the right place) and are particulary partial to the Kimberley region.  They hand out mostly in pairs (awwww) and are the smallest of the red robin varieties.  They feast on most creepy crawlies.
 
Why Brooches ?
So it's a thing again right !  Brooches have come a long way since the Cameo your grandma used to wear.  And a lot of people aren't getting their ears pierced these days...so...
Enter the modern era of the must-have accessory.
Yep - the BROOCH IS BACK baby and it's funkier than ever !
 
After quite a few enquiries in the shop as to whether we carry brooches, well let's just say "challenge accepted !"
I put on my design hat, and over the next few months created my own take on the once humble brooch, a range of beautiful, colourful and (if I don't say so myself) pretty stylish yet fun brooches featuring Australian Flora and Fauna (and a few other plants and animals that I couldn't resist).
And you know what...I have actually started wearing them myself and I must say I am starting to feel a bit naked without one.  
 
The designs are cut on our own own laser cutter out of Australian made 'no-nasties' ply and locally sourced glitter acrylic.  They are then handpainted, hand dome cast using Australian made plant based bio-resin.  Then back inside for another paint on the back, brooch back pin attached and voila - a finished brooch.
